Over a quarter of a million views, plenty of online engagement and an award to boot - that has been Headway's experience with a set of films we produced for them over the past year.

Diamonds, beer and lasers

Working for the Royal Society is never dull – we’ve recently been contracted to produce a series of films celebrating their Innovations Awards and also looking at the balancing act of a scientific career that encompasses both commercial and academic aspects. The process has taken us from a furniture factory in Camden, to University campuses in London and Warwick and to a brewing laboratory in Nottingham.

Fundraising Live 2017

Following a year of significant disruption across the charity sector, charities of all types and sizes are reinventing the way they communicate with supporters and seeking to build more meaningful and sustainable relationships. This year’s Fundraising Live conference was an important event for UK fundraisers, bringing together charities and suppliers to learn, share and network and this years event was sold out.

Faith in Action

Membership and belonging lies at the heart of Mothers’ Union activities; they’re a Christian community caring for the vulnerable and working towards social justice. Mothers’ Union supported over 64,000 vulnerable people in communities around the world last year. Our series of films celebrate the charity’s work around the world and raise awareness of both the range of their work and the benefits of membership.

Personal story videos shortlisted for awards

Nearly 500 videos entered the Charity Film Awards and close to 50,000 members of the public voted so it’s great to hear that two of our videos have been shortlisted for an award.  The Charity Film Awards were launched this year to celebrate the sector’s use of video, whether for raising awareness, changing attitudes and behaviours or fundraising.

Techy tea party - sharing skills & mince pies

Yesterday we joined our client and social housing provider Phoenix Community Housing’s Techy Tea Party.  This monthly event connects residents with volunteers to help answer questions about digital technology and teach essential online skills.  Phoenix provided laptops, tea and coffee and mince pies and volunteers brought their know-how and a friendly smile to help residents gain new skills and make the most of technology.

Raising Awareness of Violence Against Women

Tomorrow, 25th November is the United Nations' International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.  Since 2000, each year on this date activities are arranged around the world to raise awareness of violence against women, promote projects which enable women and their children to escape violence and highlight campaigns to educate people about the consequences of violence.

Not just making tea

It’s not uncommon to hear stories of interns being treated as general run-arounds, doing the photocopying, making the tea and effectively working every hour for little or no money. There’s been many recent articles, exposing companies that exploit interns on a regular basis and it’s an on-going problem that young people coming into industry face – how to get a job that requires experience, where getting experience on an internship can prove difficult.
