history (3/3):
July
2005 and the film has been entered and accepted for the
DOC NZ(New Zealand) film festival. A private view at Peckham
Multiplex in August leads again to some very
strong feedback on the film. A Q&A with Lesley at the screening
proves invaluable in thinking ahead to questions to include on the
DVD.
Work
begins in November 2005 on planning for the DVD release -
we begin editing the extras, record the filmmakers commentary and gain
feedback from educators on questions to include on the DVD to stimulate
discussion. It's soon clear from the amount of material that this will
end up as a double disc DVD release.
February
2006 - the DVD is completed and goes to the BBFC for
classification (Certificate '12') and then to Amstore for
duplication. Amazon confirms
that it will be listed and available on their site. Lesley takes
part in BBC2's "Facing the Truth" -
a 3 part series with Fergal Keane and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, bringing
together
victims and perpetrators of Northern Ireland's conflict. As a result
of this, she subsequently appeared on Woman's
Hour (BBC Radio 4) and in several newspaper articles.
A
joint launch in association with Hodders and Stoughton is planned.
Hodders are releasing Lesley's book - With What Remains -
the story of her journey - (in which the documentary crew are featured...)
