Charities learn to produce videos on an iPhone
"A lot of great information - really looking forward to putting it into practise!"
This was just one of many positive quotes we heard after the iPhone charity video training course we ran recently. We've increasingly seen the need for charities to be able to quickly turn around short, engaging videos; inspiring supporters and fundraisers through the various social media outlets. It is well documented that video provides one of the best ways to engage people with a message or cause - so we've put together this training course to help charities realise the potential of the 'communication genius in their pockets' - to be able to film and edit on their mobile phones.
One of the key things for us was to create a course that balanced technical information along with guidance on production values - getting a good interview, shots that tell a story - and with plenty of chance for practise and hands-on experience. The one day course went through basics of orientation, stability, getting good audio and deciding where to film and gave delegates the chance to develop interview skills and think through how to plan ahead to ensure the video gets the message across and has a clear objective. A filming exercise then gave us plenty of footage to work with as we went through how to use iMovie to edit the clips together and have a finished film to upload to the web.
Here's some more of the comments from delegates (shot on an iPhone, of course!)
We're planning to run another group training course in the future, if you'd like to hear more please call Phil Knox (course trainer) on 07958 634952 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
